Vision and mission of Workers World Media Productions and the Labour Community Radio Project (LCRP) - is to be the recognised and desired production house for quality media serving the working class.

Our mission is to provide high quality media serving the working class.

WWMP views 'labour' in the broadest socio-economic and political sense. This means that we do not narrowly focus on workplace or trade union related matters. Our projects therefore cover issues ranging from housing, education, healthcare and work to political and economic matters.

WWMP views all people as 'workers' whether unemployed or leading a self-sustainable livelihood outside of formal employment. In this sense the LCRP is aimed at all disadvantaged South Africans with 'labour' as its core organisational constituency and guiding perspective.

The LCRP has been running since 2002.
  • It consists of the setting up one hour weekly live labour shows on ± 40 community radio stations and has expanded to live shows on selected public SABC radio stations.
  • WWMP provides training to the presenters and producers of these shows.
  • We provide production support with weekly CD consisting of an 8-minute feature on the topic of the week, 5 minute labour news review and 3 minute HIV and AIDS insert productions in 5 languages English, Afrikaans, IsiXhosa, IsiZulu, Sesotho. These languages are spoken across all 9 provinces by the majority of South Africans.
